In July 2009, commissioned the Public Opinion Programme at the University of Hong Kong (POP) to conduct an opinion survey to gauge the overall job satisfaction of the employees, employer's perceived employees' job satisfaction and motivators to job satisfaction. The target is local full-time workers of age 18 or above.

The research instrument used in this study was designed by the POP Team after consulting, and fieldwork operations were also conducted independently by the POP Team without interference from any outside party. In other words, POP was given full autonomy to design and conduct the survey. On the other hand, data analysis was conducted by the research unit of
